LCD over Edge-lit LED August 9, 2010 Corey G. 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I have been looking for a TV to finally enjoy my living room area for several months and I was hell bent on getting an LED. I originally purchased the LG 42LE5400 edge-lit LED and thought I was going to be enjoying my new set with sytle. That TV was absolutely horrible and I wouldn't wish edge-lit LED tv's for anyone that enjoys movies with any kind of dark scenes and viewing angles. So I decided to return it and get the Samsung LN46C630...BEST thing I ever did!
For the price you get more screen, better picture uniformity and a clean interface with fast switching between input devices. Movies look unbelievable!!! I test (unofficially) my tv's with Dark Knight since that is heavy on the dark scenes and it shows this movie extremely well. It can produce a pretty bright screen and the picture was almost flawless right out the box! No netflix and apps, but I think its better to have this feature in another device like a Blue-Ray player. The sound is pretty good for the TV. Sound is pretty sharp and doesn't make me rush out and get a home theater system.
I would definitely suggest this TV for anyone and Samsung is a trusted brand.
Awesome TV, bad sound August 11, 2010 Eric (St. Louis, MO) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Great purchase, got it for an amazing price and really happy with the product. Images are clear and crisp, color is bright and vivid. Sound is so so at best, I have to crank it up since the speakers are on the bottom, need to get a new amp to run my speakers through it. Overall a great purchase and even better if you have a sound system you plan to run it through.
Very satisfied August 15, 2010 houtex73 (Katy, TX) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I bought this TV 3 months ago, and have been very happy with it. Loved the white glove delivery service. I constantly get compliments from guests about the picture clarity -- it is exceptional. Mine is in a large room, and the sound just didn't carry well, so I now use a home theater system. My only complaint is that when using a 3rd party remote to change the input, the TV's input menu stays on the screen way too long. Other than that, I'm totally satisfied and highly recommend this TV.
Outstanding LCD August 22, 2010 happy customer 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I've had my 630 LCD for about a month and it looks great! I've been waiting to see if I found something that I didn't like, so that I could include it in my review, but I haven't found anything so far.
I went with the 630 Samsung LN46C630 46-Inch 1080p 120 Hz LCD HDTV (Black), since the only internet app that I was super interested in was Netflix and I can get that through my Wii anyway. I haven't found myself wanting other apps yet, but if I do, I'll just get an internet capable blu ray, since many of the better quality ones have that capability.
In summary: don't waste your money on an internet capable TV, unless it is a built-in capability packaged with something that you really want (e.g. 3D, if you're into that) or it doesn't cost you much. For me, it wasn't worth the extra $90. You can always pick up the internet through another device that you'll end up buying anyway.
Definitely Satisfied With My First HDTV Experience March 31, 2010 R. Anderson 3 out of 4 found this review helpful
This was my first expierence with high definition television. I did quite a bit of research before deciding to go with Samsung. I would have to say that I made the right decision. My television room is not very large so I maxed out with the 46 inch screen. It is like being in a theater. The picture quality is exceptional and I love the matte finish on the screen. My room has a lot of windows and this definitely cuts down on the glare off of the television. Sound quality of the television is generic but satisfactory. I connected a small HTIB also from Samsung for movies and sports and so television speaker sound was not primary to me. The remote is average compared to others I saw when shopping for a television but I am using a Logitech remote for everything so that did not concern me either. I was cautious about making such a large purchase over the net but Amazon was great and the delivery through CEVA was terrific. Delivery was right on schedule and they unboxed and set up the TV for me. Couldn't ask for more with free delivery. Amazon price was anywhere from $100 to $400 below any in store price. Definitely would recommend this set.
